September 5, 2011 - The Arkansas Valley Wind & Percussion Ensemble concert band, led by Christi Ludwig, will begin rehearsals for it's 13th concert season on Tuesday, August 31st. The jazz band program, led by David Northrup, celebrates this milestone as well. Both bands are comprised of area music educators, business men and women and a diverse mix of musicians with varying abilities. Rehearsals occur every Tuesday from 6:30pm-7:45pm for concert band and 7:45pm-9pm for jazz band at the Shore Arts Center. The Take Five jazz combo rehearses in the Shore Arts Center as well on a rotating schedule and is directed by Greg Ludwig.

Membership in our concert and(or) JAZZ band programs is voluntary and no audition is required. Playing ability should be at a high school level or above and membership is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Our concert band and JAZZ band programs meet on Tuesday evenings at the newly opened Shore Arts Center located at 115 S. Main in Lamar, Colorado from January through April and from August through December beginning at 6:30pm-7:45pm (concert) and 7:45pm-9:00pm (JAZZ).
Our concert band program is led by Mrs. Christi Ludwig. Christi graduated with a BA in Music Education from Ithaca College in New York in 1991. Christi received her Masters in Music from Eastern New Mexico Universtiy in 1996. Christi also teaches general Music at Washington Elementary in Lamar, CO.
Our JAZZ band program is led by Mr. David Northrup.
